The attack on Marquon was not much to speak of. The defense was in vain as we carried out the attack very coordinated and disciplined. All was taken and nothing was given, except a deadly blow to the alliban playerbase.

The attack on Fechain on the other hand was a bit more challenging, and thats what Wikings love. They tried to blow up the bridge leading to Fechain but it did not stop us, we made our way with infantry across the river and capped the spawnable, taking out a few frogs in the forest. Soon thereafter CP after CP fell into our righteous hands and the bridge was repaired and by that we ended the last hope of prevailing for the allibans.

xx Squadnight 20-AUGUST-2008 "Oden Special"
August 31, 2008, 22:48:05 by Linush
First off: Bitburg.
Both Oden groups advanced towards town in 251's accompanied by Thor as PaK's in tow. Both teams had troubles with AI but found a way around it and capped a depot as well! But since we litteraly raced fought the timer fiercer than the allies it was impossible to hold. We withdrew and regrouped and had a succesful assault on the Densborn depot, but fell to timer. Once again we regropued and attack once more, because we couldn't just give up. The attack was succesful and Oden 3 showed great skill with grabbing the Zemmer depot right after Densborn CP fell. The allies responded to this with all they had to throw at us, but we held ground. We beat down wave after wave of ET's and EI's, even Beddy hotdrops. Although we are tough, we are mere infantrymen without AT-capability and so it was a question of time before the town fell into darkness once more. We then set up defensive perimeters around the two FB's to Bitburg while acquiring new orders.

Orders came and we moved out. Oden 1 struck the allies from behind from the west to catch their attention while Oden 3 supported Thor east of the airfield. Thor out-advanced Oden 3 and were outnumbered by ET's and enemy ATG's. At the same time Wittlich FB was lost and Oden withdrew, formed up with Fallschirmjägers and took it back! The KGW HQ then decided to pull out of Bitburg.

Second target was: Eindhoven.
Both Oden teams was ordered to hotdrop in the south of the town to assist the ongoing attack there and provide a supporting MS.  After a few minutes Oden was ordered to a different location, to attack the eastern armybase. Oden got there succesfully but we were not be let inside the bunker. Oden then re-attempted to capture the southern parts of the city and were succesfull. Oden 1 was then ordered to defend the spawnable depot and attack the eastern armybase from the west while Oden 3 approached from the south. Unluckily, the place was swarming of ET's and it was nearly impossible to gain entry into the bunker. Oden withdrew to regroup and await panzersupport. As Thor roared towards the eastern armybase our CO Vagnluv ordered Oden to make a paradrop on the bunker and it was a succes! We nearly capped it aswell but somehow some allied soldier snuck in and killed the capper, we heroicly defended southern Eindhoven until Vagnluv called freespawn.

The target was Spa, and it was all but pleasant for the former inhabitants. Because of the allied HC being tipsy on wine and shrimps we could easily lock down AB. All did not go smooth though, but you need to feel that one is alive. Geographical obstacles and the cityplanning of Spa provided a disadvantage for Oden when attempting to approach the spawnable depots from the east because the CP was surrounded with buildings. Although Oden was ordered to change prio into rolling out the big guns and taking out enemy armour that was approaching the hills, and did so with great success. Thor then delivered a severe knock-out punch from the south and from there let the courageous soldatens of Oden charge in and plant the flag!

This would not have been able although without the support from our flyboys in Hugin and our artillery and support soldiers in Sleipner!

S! to all Wikings, Lagus and CSPB's!!!

Tonights squadnight was a total success. Hugin and Lagus had absolute air superiority over the target, keeping enemy bombers from reaching our ground forces. The attack went quick and mercyless, as it is supposed to be. Due to the speed and effectiveness we did capture a great bunch of shameful enemy soldiers. Pure happiness is the correct word when watching a long column of POW's marching along the road escorted by the proud and strong Oden abteilung.

Great teamwork within KGW and Lagus tonight. S!
